Winter Vacation

Hey everyone!

First of all, I was in Germany and France specifically Munich, Toulouse and Paris for  2 weeks during my winter break 🙂 It was a really fun trip!

Here are some of the highlight0s of my vacation.

GERMANY (26th Dec – 29th Dec)

I arrived in Munich, on the 26th December around noon time. The airport was rather big and I couldn’t understand a single word in German. So I then went to the ticket counter to buy my train ticket from the airport to the nearest subway station from my hotel. I stayed in Smart Stay Hotel hmm it’s not that smart after all considering there wasn’t Wi-Fi. Ugh.

On the first day, I went to some tourist spots near my hostel. It was a 20 minutes walk. Not too far considering my hostel is really near to the city center. On the 26th, believe me or not, LITERALLY ALL OF THE SHOPS WERE CLOSED.

On the 27th, my friend came over. While waiting for her I was strolling around the city and found this really cool building.

Then I went to our meeting place at the Odeonsplatz.

After meeting up, we decided to have our lunch at a restaurant at Stenheil 16 for its famous Schnitzel, a German dish. Well, it tastes like normal pork chop but it was a really big whole portion! I recommend sharing with two persons.

On the 28th December, we went to the Neuschwanstein Castle. We took a train from the main train station. The train was really crowded. We bought second class seating and ended up sitting at the first class (teehee) because there were the only seats left. We were lucky that the train conductor told us it’s alright and we didn’t have to pay extra! (WOOHOO)

On our way to Neuschwanstein Castle, it was snowing! The scenery along the way was breathtaking!

We finally reached the final station where the castle is located but that’s not all. You need to take a bus and then horse carriage or walk up to the hill to see the castle! We walked up to the castle and it was around 30 minutes walk. The mountain was a bit steep so it was a really good cardio exercise LOL but it’s totally worth the sweat. Yep trust me not I sweated on a snowy day!

Yes you may enter the castle but you gotta buy ticket and nope, I didn’t enter.

Hehe it was really cold but very very beautiful and scenic. It made me felt like I was in the world of Narnia.

FRANCE (29th Dec 2017 – 9th Jan 2018)

Toulouse (29th Dec 2017 – 4th Jan 2018)

Thanks Amber for hosting me in Toulouse! Really loved Toulouse as it’s not a very crowded city but with lots of things to do! Went to see two movies during my stay. Pitch perfect 3 was good as usual! And Molly’s Game, a very deep film but a great one! Celebrated my first new year away from Ireland!

Paris (4th Jan – 9th Jan)

Although this is my second time in Paris, Paris never failed to amaze me. It definitely was a different vibe because it was during the summer the last time I went. Not being biased but I prefer my summer visit probably due to the warmer weather. When I was here during the winter, it was very wet. Rainy. Yicks! Despite the rain, I enjoyed my trip 🙂

Hehe after staying in France for almost 10 days! My French did actually improve! Fun fact on the last day of my trip, I booked my uber to the bus station. My uber driver couldn’t speak English so I had to speak really BROKEN FRENCH to him and it was so embarrassing but at least he understands me :(( Felt so sorry for my French teacher LMAO.

Want to see my shopping haul throughout my trip? Be sure to check my next blog! See you!

Regards,

Moon.
